Everyone feels differently in hypnosis.  Some people feel light, some people feel heavy, some feel neither.  Some get tingling in their hands or feet, some don’t.   There is no right or wrong way to feel in hypnosis. However you feel is right for you.  One thing that most people do notice is an inexplicable positive change in their daily behaviour.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy is completely safe. You are aware and in control at every moment and can end the session at any time, although you won’t want to becuase it can be a great feeling. Hypnosis is not sleep, nor can you get “stuck” in a state of hypnosis. You can’t be made to do something against your will! Hypnosis / hypnotherapy is a safe, relaxing and enjoyable experience.

How does hypnosis work?

Our minds work on two levels – the conscious and the unconscious. We make decisions, think and act with our conscious mind. The unconscious mind controls our habits, behaviours and feelings. In the relaxed state known as hypnosis we can communicate directly with the unconscious mind. This is why it is so quick and easy to change lifelong habits / behaviours with hypnosis / hypnotherapy.

How can hypnotherapy / hypnosis help me stop smoking, lose weight etc?

Because smoking, eating, etc are habits, they are controlled by the unconscious mind. Since hypnosis works directly on the unconscious, this is the only method that makes sense!  Hypnotherapy can give fantastic results to make the positive changes you need and want.

How can hypnosis / hypnotherapy help me overcome anxiety, stress or procrastination?

There is a reason why the problem started. Your unconscious mind holds all your past memories. By accessing your unconscious with hypnosis we can not only find the cause of the problem but also help you release the emotions connected to the problem.

Can hypnosis guarantee success?

No therapist / practitioner or doctor can ever guarantee a total success of curing / overcoming symptoms or issues as certain treatments will work differently depending on the individual.  I use advanced hypnotherapy and NLP skills and have many years experience to help you.  I will teach you techniques to use at home by yourself which is paramount to making the changes you want to make.  The more you practice the exercises I give you, the better the success.  I will do my part and I will expect you to do yours.  It is very important to me that you achieve your goals.  After all, your success ….. is my success!

Are you a qualified and registered hypnotherapist / hypnobirthing instructor?

Yes, I am certified, recognised and registered as a qualified hypnotherapist, and a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register, General Hypnotherapy Standard Council and registered to the Wise Hippo Birthing Programme. I trained with some of the best hypnotherapists in the country – the longest serving HypnoBirthing practitioner (Steve Griffiths) in the country and Hypnotic Solutions hypnotherapist Brian Jacobs (who trained with Paul McKenna).

What should I expect in my hypnotherapy sessions?

You should expect to feel relaxed and comfortable in calm surroundings.

Apart from stopping smoking and hypnobirthing, the first hypnotherapy session is approximately 2 hours and subsequent sessions are approximately 1 hour.  The first hypnotherapy session consists of us discussing the change you want to make.  I then explain a little about how the mind works using a ‘Mind Model’.  We will talk about how hypnosis can help and I will explain to you how hypnosis works.  You then allow yourself to go into hypnosis whilst sitting in a very comfy chair listening to the sound of my voice.  With the use of hypnosis and creative visualisation you can regain control of those unwanted habits, feelings and emotions.
