Insomnia
Insomnia is the chronic inability to sleep well. It can be experienced as a difficulty in falling asleep, staying asleep and waking too early and not being able to go back to sleep.
Insomnia is suffered by around 35% of the population at some time in their lives. Insomnia is a much more serious problem than most people think. Long term lack of sleep is bad for your health but can cause poor performance at work. The many healing and rejuvenating qualities of sleep disappear when sleep deprivation is involved.
The insomniac's mind races out of control and endlessly turns over real and imagined events. All of us suffer this at times, exams, moving house, etc.
Hypnosis has none of the drawbacks that sleeping tablets can cause (such as becoming addicted to them and thus losing their effectiveness overtime). Hypnotherapy can provide relief from the problem of insomnia.
You will be taught self hypnosis so that you can relax yourself to get into a sound comfortable sleep. In fact, many people come to see a hypnotherapist for something they believe to be completely unrelated and are amazed that their sleep improves as a consequence of dealing with the other thing. This is one of the most empowering effects of hypnosis – you learn to change one thing and so many other things fall into place.
